David Bowie won Best Rock Song at the 2017 Grammy Awards for "Blackstar", beating out Metallica, Radiohead, Twenty One Pilots, and Highly Suspect in the category. The late music icon has won five awards during the ceremony, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), Best Rock Performance, and Best Recording Package. Surprisingly, this is the first time Bowie has won for his original music, he took home Best Video, Short Form in 1985, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
The rock legend passed away on January 10th, 2016, at the age of 69. He was privately battling cancer, which served as the subject matter for his incredible final album Blackstar.
