'Riverdale' Stars Slam 'Cosmopolitan Philippines' For Severe Photoshop Job

Photoshop is just a standard part of photo editing nowadays, but there is such a thing as going too far and the folks over at Cosmopolitan Philippines did just that with recent American cover stars Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes of Riverdale.

After the pair's edited photoshoot from the Philippines surfaced, Reinhart and Mendes took to social media to show off the Stateside version of the shots to compare them with the edits that were released from the international edition. "Camila and I have worked incredibly hard to feel confident and comfortable in the bodies that we have," Reinhart said on her Instagram Story. "It's an every day battle, sometimes. And to see our bodies become so distorted in an editing process is a perfect example of the obstacles we have yet to overcome."

Reinhart went on to admit that they "cannot stop fighting" as their battle has only just begun. "We are f**king powerful, beautiful, and strong...we aren't going to hide behind Photoshop to conform to beauty standards," she wrote in another Story. "That's why I'm calling out @Cosmopolitan_Philippines. It's sad that you felt our bodies needed to be slimmed down. But Camila and I are f**king beautiful. As is. And you can't 'fix' us.'"

As for Mendes, who has been vocal about her struggles with an eating disorder, the actress said she felt "disrespected and disturbed" by the way that the Philippines media decided to portray the duo. "We want their readers to know that those bodies are not ours; they have been distorted from their natural beauty," she explained. "We prefer to see our bodies the way they actually are. I'm not interested in having a slimmer waist, I'm more satisfied with the one that I already have."

Coincidentally, the stars' clap backs at Cosmopolitan Philippines occurred during International Women's Day, which made everything even more powerful. See the pair's edited photos below!
