Are The Raconteurs Done Recording Their New Album?

On Wednesday (March 13), The Raconteurs announced their first live show in eight years. At the time we thought the gig would precede their long-awaited third album, but that may no longer be the case. On Friday (March 15), Third Man Records shared news that the album is done via Twitter. "The. Album. Is. Done." Jack White's record label tweeted alongside a short video announcement. The words “Just finished making the rock & roll album you’ve been waiting for...” scrawl across the screen, as a tasty guitar lick soundtracks the clip.

Check out the tweet below.

The band is slated to play Third Man Records' 10th anniversary party on April 6, so could we be getting the new album before then? We'll just have to wait and see. Even if the record comes out after the show, White and company gave us a taste of what to expect back in December, when they released two new songs: "Sunday Driver" and "Now That You're Gone."

Though we haven't heard any new songs yet this year, the band recently teased "Shine A Light On Me" via a series of Instagram videos demonstrating the unconventional way White wanted to mix the track.
