Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly have plans to expand their family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already parents to three royal tots—Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (5), and Prince Louis (2).
“Having four children was always part of Kate’s plan,” a source close to William and Kate told Us Weekly. “She put the idea on hold when [COVID-19] hit, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine and [George and Charlotte] scheduled to return to school in April. She feels ready to start trying again.”
While Kate has always wanted four kids, William wasn't always on board with the idea of adding another little one to their family. “It took a while for Kate to convince William, though,” the insider shared. “He said that three children is more than enough. The thought of having four made him feel overwhelmed."
"Kate’s desires to have another child have inspired him," the insider continued. "At the end of the day, he loves and appreciates the secure family setting he never had growing up. Why not make it bigger? After taking some time to think about it, he’s on the same page and is excited about the future.”
The Duke and Duchess have Cambridge have reportedly already told Queen Elizabeth they want to have another baby, which left the monarch feeling "overjoyed." Her Majesty "adores her great-grandchildren" and even just welcomed another. Princess Eugenie gave birth to a baby boy earlier this week.
Though Queen Elizabeth loves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she's "slightly concerned" that William and Kate might be "biting off more than they can chew" with another kid in the house. The source added that Kate "isn’t planning to employ another nanny because likes to be "hands-on" with her children. Ultimately, though, Queen Elizabeth feels that "as long as they’re happy, she’s happy.”
