Chrissy Teigen Accidentally Offended Katy Perry At The Inauguration

While attending President Joe Biden's inauguration in January to support her husband, John Legend, as he performed for the Celebrating America special, Chrissy Teigen had an awkward run-in with Katy Perry. Like Legend, Perry was one of the performers that evening. Perry closed out the special with a performance of her hit song 'Firework' as actual fireworks went off behind her.

“I remember I was so scared because we ran into Katy Perry after, and I always say dumb things,” Chrissy told Jimmy Fallon during a virtual appearance on The Tonight Show. “I always get so nervous, and I say a faux pas, and then I hadn’t seen Katy for so long.”

Teigen told Perry she "typically hate[s] fireworks, but that was like amazing, that was beautiful.’" Unfortunately, though, Teigen thinks Perry "heard that I said I hate ‘Firework,’ like the song.”

After realizing her mistake, Teigen said she “wanted to die, I felt so bad. 'No, no, no, not ‘Firework.' I always do that.”

Hopefully, Perry will catch wind of Teigen's tale and know she wasn't talking about her song.
