Jennifer Aniston is busy promoting the upcoming second season of her AppleTV+ series The Morning Show. Though she's meant to be discussing her current project, the 52-year-old actress keeps getting asked about the recent Friends reunion. Not only the reunion, but also the rumors about a romance between her and David Schwimmer that followed its release.

While chatting with Marie Claire Australia, Aniston was able to laugh about the speculation that she and Schwimmer started dating after reuniting for the HBO Max special. The hilarious texts she received from her friends amid the rumors definitely helped.

"That's really funny," she told the outlet. "I was just saying, ‘I hadn't heard a word of this.' Honestly. I was getting a couple of texts from people saying, ‘I thought you were on a break, LOL.' And I kept saying, ‘What are you talking about?' And then I went online to see what was happening and I was like, ‘That is the funniest rumor that I never heard that got shot down in the quickest amount of time.'"

This isn't the first time Aniston has been asked about the dating rumors, either. She previously admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she found the situation, including the enthusiastic response from fans, to be "bizarre."

"I could not believe that, actually. Like, really? That's my brother! But I understand it, though," she added. "It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies for dreams to come true."

It's likely the theorizing about a potential romance between the former co-stars was inspired by the on-screen love interests revealing they had "major crushes" on each other during the early days of filming Friends. “The first season I had a major crush on Jen,” Schwimmer said during the reunion. “And I think we both, at some point, were crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary.”

Though Schwimmer may not be the one, the 'Cake' actress is hoping to find love again—just not with another celebrity. During an appearance on People (The TV Show!), Aniston was asked if she thinks romantic relationships between celebrities and people outside of Hollywood can work. “Of course,” she said. “Absolutely. I mean, it’s happened. That’s what I’m sort of hoping for...is not necessarily somebody in the industry itself. That’d be nice.”
