Despite Journey being in the middle of a tour with Def Leppard right now, keyboardist/guitarist Jonathan Cain is suing founding member Neal Schon for claims that the lead guitarist maxed out the band's American Express credit card, which has a $1 million limit, among other accusations.

According to Bloomberg, Cain also alleges that Schon overspent on their $1,500 per-night hotel allowance, chartered private jets, unnecessarily hired a friend as extra security, and is hindering the band from paying off debts.

The dispute “is a very much public battle between petitioner and respondent and is impacting the band’s reputation throughout the music industry,” reads the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday (July 30). “The band’s actual onstage performance is, at the moment, one of the only aspects of the business that has not suffered.”

This isn't the first time Cain has sued his bandmate over excessive spending—he also took legal action against Schon in 2022.

As of now, both members are continuing to perform together. Check out the list of Journey's remaining tour dates below.
