How far would you go to help people you care about? That’s what a new survey asked 2-thousand U.S. adults to find out how deep their loyalty to friends, family, and even brands runs.
It turns out, people are willing to do a lot for those close to them. According to the survey, 53% of Americans would suffer through going to the DMV for a loved one and 39% would gladly donate an organ to a friend or family member in need.
- And the loyalty doesn’t stop there. Nearly two-thirds (62%) say they would serve as a reference for an apartment or job.
- Some would also be willing to start a business with a loved one, especially their partner (35%) and best friend (27%).
- If they got lucky and had $100-thousand suddenly “fall in their lap,” 82% of respondents say they’d even share their new fortune with friends and family.
- When it comes to brands, 57% prefer one over another for certain items or services, including shoes (52%), technology, like phones and computers (51%), hair products (50%) and clothing (44%).
- More than two-thirds (71%) are loyal to a grocery store, 59% are loyal to specific restaurants, and others feel that way about gas stations (39%) and convenience stores (27%).
- The average American has stayed loyal to their favorite brands for 13 years, while it’s been more than two decades for a third of those polled.
- That brand loyalty comes with some perks, like free shipping and returns (38%), BOGO deals (35%), discounts (33%) and even freebies when they spend a certain amount (31%).
