Joe Jonas recently got candid about life as a girl dad after growing up with three brothers.
The Jonas Brothers icon, who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with his ex-wife, Sophie Turner, appeared on the Tuesday (August 5) episode of Amy Poehler’s "Good Hang" podcast, and opened up about parenting his two daughters. The pop sensation explained that raising boys is vastly different from raising girls and used a hilarious playground example to illustrate his point.
"Boys are so different than girls. I’ll watch my kids on the playground, and it’s, like, delicate. And then this kid will be like, ‘Ahh!’ And dive off the top of the slide. And you’re just like, 'That is a boy.'"
Jonas also revealed what it was like growing up as a middle child with brothers Kevin, Nick, and Frankie, and praised his mother for raising them so well.
"Four boys in one home. She was the boss, you know." The "Cake by the Ocean" singer said his mother taught him and his siblings how to "be nice guys to women."
"Growing up, we needed a loud voice like her to be able to control us and also make sure that we weren't, like, pieces of s***. I think that was important."
In May, Jonas spoke to podcast host Jay Shetty about his coparenting relationship with Turner, and listed the hopes he has for Willa and Delphine as they grow up and navigate the world.
"Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true. I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I'm really grateful for. As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them. I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want."
