Meghan Markle was the first member of the royal family to speak out about the Black Lives Matter protests. She gave a virtual commencement speech at her LA High School, Immaculate Heart High School this past week.
She spoke about the protests happening in Los Angeles and about her own experience witnessing the LA riots in 1992 after Rodney King's death. Markle explained her high expectations she has for the class of 2020 to join in on the fight to end racial injustice.
Markle started off by saying "I wanted to say the right thing. And I was really nervous that I wouldn’t, or that it would get picked apart, and I realized—the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing."
