After sunset today, this month's full moon will rise known as the full Strawberry Moon! It will pass through the outer part of the Earth's shadow which will then cause a penumbral lunar eclipse to occur.
This means that the moon will appear darker, but it will be so faint that you probably won't even notice it. The Strawberry Moon's name actually has nothing to do with its color and it won't be bright red. It got its name from the Algonquin tribes in eastern North America. They viewed June's full moon as a time to gather strawberries that were ripening.
