Los Angeles is currently considering making outdoor dining permanent to help the struggling restaurant industry.
Lawmakers are currently looking for a way to expand the city's outdoor dining program, but make it permanent. According to City Councilman David Ryu, he introduced a new idea of allowing restaurants to expand their outdoor dining onto sidewalks, parking lots and city streets.
The program is called Al Fresco and has been a lifeline for businesses struggling to survive through the pandemic. When restuarants are allowed to return to indoor dining, having a choice will be vital.
