It has just been announced that Regal Cinemas is suspending operations at all U.S. locations.
The second largest cinema chain, is closing all of their locations nationwide after reopening in August. Starting on Thursday, October 8th, Regal Cinemas announced that they will indefinitely be halting operations of 536 theaters. The closures will end up impacting about 40,000 employees across the U.S.
Theaters were really counting on the release of the 25th James Bond film, to help with the ticket sales amid the ongoing pandemic. Now, since the release has been pushed back until April 2021, it left them no choice but to close down. According to CEO Mooky Greidinger, he said “We are like a grocery shop that doesn’t have vegetables, fruit, meat. We cannot operate for a long time without a product.”
