For the last seven years, if you wanted to hang out at Starbucks you didn’t have to order anything. That’s about to change. The company announced a new code of conduct that will be posted in every store. Besides having to order something to stay, the rules include: a ban discrimination or harassment, consumption of outside alcohol, smoking, vaping, drug use and panhandling. The code of conduct warns that violators will be asked to leave, and says “the store may call law enforcement.” Starbucks says employees will be trained on how to enforce the new code.
