*LIST* America’s Favorite Hot Sauces

Americans are spicing things up in kitchens across the country, according to research from Instacart. In honor of National Hot Sauce Day, which is tomorrow (January 22nd), they’re sharing data-driven insights, which show Americans clearly have a favorite brand.

  • After analyzing their own purchase data, Instacart finds that Frank’s RedHot was the number one choice for hot sauce lovers in 29 states in 2024.
  • But there are some regional faves as well. In parts of the South, people prefer Texas Pete, which is the top pick in the Carolinas and Virginia.
  • But in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Arkansas, Louisiana brand is number one.
  • The rest of the country is divided between Frank’s RedHot and Burman’s, except California, where they prefer Tapatio, New Mexico, where it’s 505 Southwestern and Hawaii, which goes for Tabasco.
  • The spiciest state is New Mexico, which ordered the most hot sauce in 2024, at 31.9-ounces per customer.
  • Alaska is second with 29.2-ounces per customer, followed by Colorado with 27.2-ounces per customer.
  • And the least spicy state is Alabama, averaging just 16.6-ounces per customer.
