The FDA Raises Costco Smoked Salmon Recall To Highest Risk Class

If you’re a Costco fan and bought Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon, do not eat it. A recall on the product began last year and the FDA has now bumped it up to a Class 1. That means it’s “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.” Lab testing confirmed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the product. The FDA is concerned that some consumers may have frozen the salmon for future use, which is why they issued the warning.
