AI is being used everywhere right now, but can you tell? For now, there are certain ways to verify if photos and videos, in particular, are fake. Use your eagle eye and look for these “tells”:
- Look at the hands. If they’re distorted, they are fake
- Pay attention to whether the image respects real world laws like physics
- Peer into the eyes. AI generated eyes don’t have pupils with perfect circles
- Examine the mouth and teeth
- Listen for breaths and natural pauses in speech. AI doesn’t have those
- Be skeptical of things that look too perfect and lack detail
- Scan for repetitiveness and duplication in the background
