Nobody wants to deal with that disappointment, and new research can help you avoid it. A new report from FinanceBuzz ranks the most boring cities in the country.

  • Their team analyzed data on 75 of the biggest U.S. cities, based on fun things to do there and dining options available.
  • Each city was ranked on population makeup, culinary scene, outdoor activities, nightlife, celebrations, and events and attractions.
  • All major American cities have their own appeal and FinanceBuzz points out that even those that scored the lowest still offer plenty of unique attractions and opportunities.
  • That said, Jacksonville, Florida, has been named the most boring city in the U.S.
  • It has an excitement score of just 14.3 out of 100, ranking especially low for the culinary scene, nightlife and celebrations.
  • Another Florida city, Tallahassee, makes the top 10, but the Sunshine State is also home to two of the five most exciting cities in the country, Miami and Orlando.
