It was going to be easier to cancel subscriptions, but an appeals court has decided Americans have to hunt for that option on websites. The Federal Trade Commission's "click-to-cancel" rule was announced last year with the goal of making it just as easy to cancel something as it was to enroll. It was set to take effect in a few days, but the court yesterday said the agency hadn't done a proper regulatory analysis of the rule. That's required when the impact on the economy is more than $100-million. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a trade group representing major cable and internet providers such as Charter Communications, Comcast, Cox Communications, and media companies like Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery fought to block the rule.
