Taylor Swift has officially announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” just hours after a mysterious countdown appeared on her website. Fans clocked that the timer would hit zero on the 12th day of the month at 12:12AM eastern, and sure enough, she revealed the title in a teaser for her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
The news came after the Kelces teased a “VERY special guest” earlier in the day, with Swifties spotting major clues in the teaser like both brothers in Eras Tour merch, a sparkly orange background, and a silhouette telling Swifties we’re so back. Taylor Nation, the “Fortnight” singer’s social media team, only amped up the buzz, posting a thread with 12 of her best orange tour fits alongside the caption, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”
Taylor’s last project, “The Tortured Poets Department,” dominated 2024 as the year’s best-selling album. Now, with her special guesting on Travis’ pod, fans are in full chaos mode for what some are already dubbing will be “the most watched podcast in history.” No date yet on when fans can expect the new album but the “New Heights” podcast featuring Taylor will premiere on Wednesday (the 13th) at 7PM eastern.
But wait there’s more…
Swifties are in full detective mode and they are leaving no stone unturned. So imagine their surprise to see Sabrina Carpenter rocking the stage with Taylor in the Taylor Nation thread. So now the theory is the “Espresso” singer and Taylor have collabed on a song that will be included on “The Life of a Showgirl.” The pop superstars became besties after Sabrina was Taylor’s opener for the Latin American leg of “The Eras Tour.”
